We think the LG G5 is one of the most unique smartphones that has launched in the last few years and whilst LG has dropped a few selling features from it’s LG flagship in 2016, it’s added a whole range of new features that make it a worthwhile purchase.

In this article we discuss 5 unique LG G5 features. We’ll start with the less obvious ones before moving onto the more known killer features.

Removable Battery

The LG G5 is one of the very few remaining smartphones that has a removable battery. By taking away removable batteries, manufacturers are given more space for internal hardware and other features.

However, LG has figured a way to have a smartphone that is both unibody and has a battery that is easy to remove. Not only can you remove the battery but you can upgrade its capacity with some modules - we’ll talk more about this later. Are you a LG fan? Learn here how to unlock your LG phone!

High Resolution Display

Whilst other smartphones are now jumping on board the 2K display train, the LG camp has been touting high resolution 2K displays for a few years.

The LG G5 has a 2K display as expected and whilst it is not as large as the 5.5 inch panel on the LG G4, but at 5.3 inches it’s still a tad bit larger than most flagship devices, including the Samsung Galaxy S7 and the iPhone 6S.

MicroSD Card Support

MicroSD card support is becoming a common occurrence again on Android but if you are using an Apple device or an Android that does not have microSD card support, you may come across some issues when storage starts to get low. Fortunately the LG G5 does support microSD storage. Unlock now your LG G5 just click here!

Modules

The LG G5 has a very unique modular design. The bottom section of the phone can be detached and with it a module will be pulled out.

By default the battery will be attached to the module, but different modules with extra battery life or physical grips for the camera app can be purchased and added.

We’ve never seen anything like this on a smartphone before and it’s actually a really neat idea.

Always On Display

With the low power Always On Display mode, you’ll be able to see notifications for your apps and the current date and time constantly on the LG G5 without the need to turn the display on.
