LG Optimus G Pro Being Introduced On May 1st in New York

LG Optimus G Pro SmartphoneLG is taking a funny approach to announce their new Optimus G Pro by making an introduction in New York amongst a concert performance from what LG has told us as the ‘Indie music sensation Atlas Genius.’

This event should hopefully tell customers about the launch date for the new LG Optimus Pro, and what cities and regions the handset will be purchasable from. LG will most likely go over the features and functionality for the final time before revealing the launch date, which according to rumors will be on May 10th for AT&T.

Thanks to the popularity of the super cheap Nexus 4, LG has managed to get more customers looking their way, which is important as they have a tough fight ahead of them against Samsung’s Galaxy S4 and HTC’s One.

LG has already made improvements to the Pro to help it stand a chance against other phones in the market, and it will ship with high end hardware and software features, including dual camera, which allows users to use both the front and rear camera at the same time, smart video, an eye tracking software that pauses videos when you aren’t watching, and Qslide, an app that supports the use of two different applications at once.

These features sound stripped straight from Samsung, and even their handsets are looking ever more like the successful Galaxy pebbles. Will the LG take the spot from Samsung or will Samsung keep the lead? We’ll have to wait and find out.
