The new Moto X has been released this September and it seems it lives up to its expectations. Let’s take each of its characteristics and describe them a little. To get unlocked your Moto X please click here.

First of all, its size is different, significantly bigger, and with a better AMOLED 5.2” display of 1080p . The thickness has reduced, as opposed to its display size, but its weight has increased a little bit, with 0.18 ounces.

Other visible improvements are the dual front-facing speakers, with a speaker grill unusually raised above the screen, this way preventing the screen from scratching when it lies face down on any surface.

About the cameras, the Moto X has a 13MP back camera with an f/2.25 lens and a dual flash called “Ring Flash”. This camera can shoot 4K UHD video, 1080p, regular and slow motion.

Regarding the processor, there is a quad-core 2.5GHz Snapdragon 801 processor with an Adreno 330 GPU, and also 2GB of RAM, better than the last year version. The battery is now a 2300mAh one, compared to last year’s 2200.

You still cannot use micro SD cards on the Moto X, unfortunately, but it can be purchased in either 16GB or 32GB versions.  Anyway there are other ways to unlock your smartphone just visit here.

Regarding the software, the Moto X runs on Android, with no specific adaptations or skins. However, the custom Motorola apps are quite interesting and better than last year. There is the touchless display, now called “Moto Voice” that allows you to use Google search and also other apps from your gadget such as Facebook, Whatsapp or YouTube.

There is also Moto Display and Moto Actions, which allow you to access your notifications easier and go thtough the camera software in a lighter manner. One bad point for the software in Moto X is that the updates in the new gadget cannot be applied to the old one, so you will only have to get the new Moto X to enjoy the custom apps.

Regarding the options of customization, the Moto Maker online suite which offers many options of covers and colors is this year even richer. So now you can choose from many colors of back plate (including wood and leather) and you can also choose the color of your metal trim, the ring around the camera and the speaker grates.

A new interesting accessory is the Motorola Turbo Charger that uses the Quick Charge technology from Qualcomm, which in fifteen minutes of charging gives you eight hours of battery life.

Another interesting addition to the 2014 Moto X is the Moto Hint, a Bluetooth earpiece that allows you to interact with your computer voice assistant without touching the phone.

The price is quite a good one for the unlocked version, £419, cheaper than most of the flagships. On the overall, the new Moto X has improved considerably since its previous version and it will surely have plenty of fans.
