Here is a quick rundown of the latest Samsung model – the Galaxy S8.

The Samsung Galaxy S8 features a 5.7” body that is 7.3mm in thickness. The phone’s operating system runs off Android OS, v7.0 and has an 8GB RAM. But don’t worry, if you need extra storage then you can extend the memory by utilising the microSD card slot.

As mentioned above, the operating system will be Android OS, v7.0 and the chipset will be Qualcomm MSM8998 Snapdragon 835. The central processing unit (CPU) will be Octa-core (4x2.45 GHz Kyro and 4x1.9 GHz Kyro) and the graphics processing unit (GPU) will be Adreno 540.

This latest model from Samsung will feature a super AMOLED touchscreen, with 16M colors. The screen size is a decent size at 5.7 inches and offers the handler a multi-touch option. The resolution of the phone is impressive at 1440 x 2560 pixels and includes Corning Gorilla Glass 5 for protection on the front.

The Galaxy S8’s weight is yet to be confirmed but what we do know is that the size will be 5.52 x 2.84 x 0.29 inches. It will take a single SIM with dual stand by (Nano-SIM). The phone will also be water proof for up to 1.5 meters, for up to an impressive 30 minutes. Additionally, it will also be dust proof and all of this is certified by IP68.

The phones internal memory is 6 or 8 GB RAM and 64 or 128 GB. If you require extra storage, then it can provide you with up to 256GB by inserting a microSD into the single SIM model. There will also be a dual-SIM model that offers, again, up to 256GB while using 2 SIM slots.

The Galaxy S8 features stereo speakers with a headphone jack of 3.5mm. The models microphone is also able to cancel out any other additional noise during phone-calls. The primary camera on this phone compromises of 12MP quality, all while featuring autofocus, dual-LED flash and OIS. The phone also allows you to geo-tag, manual focus by touchscreen, face detection, 9MP image recording and panorama.

The secondary camera is 8 mega pixels’ quality and the video compromises 2160p@60fps, 1080p@120fps.

Other additional features of the Galaxy S8 include, a fingerprint scanner on the front of the phone and HTML5 browser. The battery on this model is a Li-Ion battery and is not able to be removed and the network is GSM/HSPA/LTE.

The messaging service is possible in SMS, MMS, IM, Email and Push Mail and includes Bluetooth connectivity and also Wi-Fi enabled. The GPS on the phone is A-GPS, GLONASS, BDS and includes NFC but no radio. The USB on the phone is v3.1, type-C 1.0 with reversible connector.
