Is the Battery life on the BlackBerry Q10 Good?

By admin | Published June 8th, 2013

BlackBerry Q10 Battery LifeWith a small 3.1 inch screen, the Q10 should manage to work amply for a good few hours without running out of juice- well, that’s the theory anyway- but how long does the Q10’s battery actually last?

Despite the Q10 making room for a full-Qwerty keypad, it manages to fit in a 2100mAh battery, which is strangely 300mAh larger than the Z10, a device that has a 4.2 inch display.

Obviously battery power has to be used on various components of the handset, but a lot of that power will be drawn from the screen, and as screens get bigger, more battery is required- but the Q10 has managed to pack a big battery into a little shell.

  • The Q10 manages to hold up pretty well- it could hold up a call for around 20 hours, and although that’s not as long as the current battery king, the RAZR MAXX by Motorola, it’s awfully close. Unsurprisingly though, the Q10 manages to stay awake for longer than the Galaxy S4, a handset that manages to hold a call for around 18 hours.

When it came to other aspects of the phone, the BlackBerry Q10 did hold up as well. For example, when browsing the internet, it fell behind the HTC One, the iPhone 5, the RAZR Max and even the Galaxy Note 2 and iPad Mini, putting it in a reasonable 6th place.

The BlackBerry Q10 can also playback video for 11 hours, and whilst the RAZR MAXX can stay running video for around 16 and a half hours, it certainly manages to hold up well against other handsets?

Is the Q10’s battery good? We’d say so- although it’s not as good as some handsets, it’s certainly enough to get you through a day of average usage. Who knows, it might even get you through two days.
