Overview:

On the eve when RIM’s highly awaited new Blackberry 10 gadgets were announced, we got their cutting-edge smartphone for T-Mobile with the OS 7.1, the Blackberry Curve 9315.  Basically a variation of the Curve 9310, its shelf price is $49.99 on-deal; however the question that persists is whether one should pick it up realizing what it has to offer.

Design Specifications:

The Curve 9315 designed, for T-Mobile, is very much similar to the Verizon’s model of the Curve 9310. Contrast to its antecedents, this is perhaps one of the compacted Curve models till day. However, we have to confess, it certainly feels relatively cheap in texture with its total plastic structure.

Near to its lean, there are its lock button, shutter key, volume adjustment keys, BBM button, speaker grill, microphone, microUSB port along with 3.5mm headset jack.

At the backside, one will find measly sized 3.2 megapixel camera along with LED flash, which provides VGA capture resolution of 640 x 480 at max.Gliding the rear cover, there is an access to the 1,450 mAh Battery, SIM card slot as well as microSD card slot.

Display:

Alas! Our eyes struggle to try to observe anything on this poor designing of the screen. To be precise, it is 2.44-inch QVGA 320 x 240 LCD display which is sorely tormenting to look at! It is not poor in the details section but also with the pitiable viewing angles, in addition to low contrast which is specifically not well for the outdoor usage.

Keyboard:

Paying tribute to its yesteryear ancestors, this newest model is perfectly fine by including that classic Curve keyboard which we all love to use.  Yet it is still not as efficient as the keyboard of theBold series. Thanks to its merely raised buttons and quick response, we’re capable to type away gaily, without much trouble. In the meantime, it is quite weird to once again start using optical trackpad to navigate, however for some occasion, its good.

Interface:

Oh well! It is really surprising why RIM thought to deliver an OS 7.1 running gadget, understanding what’s coming in near future. Nonetheless, that makes the Curve 9315 working. Still the tough fact is that its irrefutably archaic by the latest standards. Infact, the worst part is to try to navigate on the UI, grasping that its not empowered for touch sense makes it a very tedious job.

Processor:

Empowered with a single-core 800MHz processor with RAM of 512MB, it is not roughly anything which will impart fear in some high-end smart phones available.Nevertheless, for a gadget of this competence, it is efficient in offering very quick reaction to peak actions

Internet:

Can it be more monotonous? Really mates, the web browsing experience, using the Curve 9315 is the apt instance of archaic. Not that it is agonizingly sluggish in execution of text and image, but the leisure navigational activities while scrolling turns it into more exasperating.

Camera & Multimedia:

If you have a very loyal camera, possibly you will prefer it over the Curve 9315 to capture those precious moments. In simple terms, the dearth the latest accessibility of auto-focus, which means that, it will never be able to seize that picture perfect moments sharply. Besides, the pictures will lack detailing and comprehends low lighting in it. Equally, its VGA recording appears cloudy and unrealistic.

The music player of Curve is a pretty much as standard as it comes in the Curve series. Fortunately, the sound quality of the speaker is quite decent.

By this time, we’re not much excited about its low quality display it’s swaggering. Hence, recognizing that, it is no surprise for us that it is undoubtedly not perfect to watch videos. In fact, it is capable to run videos at VGA resolution at max which is hardly any good.

Call Quality:

Positioning the earpiece appropriately, we’re able to grasp the voices quite well-with very less distortion. However, one the opposite line, our listeners says that there was some hollowness with our vocals. In the meantime, the speakerphone radiates some snapping when it is on loudest setting.

Battery:

With just 1,450 mAh battery, it is sufficient to complete one rock solid day to day usage. Still, our hopes were higher than this.

Final Words:

In a broad spectrum, $50 might be a groovy deal for the Blackberry Curve 9315, yet when the platform is out-of-date, in accordance to its cheap texture; it won’t make an esteemed possession contrary to other smartphones, in the same range. At this stage guys, unless you are an avid admirer of old technology, you should better be waiting for RIM’s next-gen Blackberry OS 10 gadgets. And truthfully, although it is an old device, you should better invest your money is something as worthy as Bold 9900.

Positives:

• Same Quality Curve Series Keyboard

Negatives:

• Archaic OS Usage
• Low Quality Display
• Cheap Designing
• Awful Camera Performance
