LG G4 vs iPhone 6 Plus

By admin | Published June 27th, 2015

It always feels fitting to match up Samsung against Apple - they’ve been bitter rivals since the beginning of the smartphone war, but there are so many other great Android manufacturers that now have a say in the battle. The latest phablet from LG, the LG G4, would be a very worthy contender against the iPhone 6 Plus, but which device comes out on top?

Build Quality

The iPhone 6 Plus is perhaps the most slim-lined, elegant iPhone yet, and whilst previously concerns around the durability of the device were shouted across the internet, it’s mostly a sturdy device that looks and feels great to hold.

When compared to the LG G4, it’s clear which phone looks the nicest. The iPhone 6 Plus feels so much more impressive and high quality. The LG G4 isn’t without it’s plusses though - as a trade-off for the lower quality material and less-appealing design, you’re given a removable battery, a microSD card slot and a plastic back that can be replaced with real leather.

Perhaps the iPhone 6 looks nicer, but the LG G4 has more design functionality by a long shot. If you want to unlock your Iphone 6 Plus just visit here!

Display

Both the LG G4 and the iPhone 6 Plus have 5.5 inch displays, so this is a great area to make an in-depth comparison. If you delve further into the display of each device, you’ll notice that the iPhone 6 Plus display produces much more vibrant, natural colors, whilst the LG G4 does a better job at showing bright, “eye catching” colors.

The over saturation on the LG G4 may make the LG UX interface look brighter and more appealing, but the iPhone 6 Plus produces a much more accurate color palette.

You do get more pixels per inch on the LG G4, but it really isn’t noticeable. The LG G4 has 538 ppi, whilst the iPhone 6 Plus display has a ppi of 401.

Interface

LG has gone for a much brighter, more colorful approach with it’s LG UX, whilst the iPhone 6 Plus uses the fine tuned iOS 8.3. The LG interface is perhaps best known for it’s slew of LG exclusive features, including Knock On, Knock Code, Dual Window, QSlide and more.

iOS 8.3 on the other hand is perhaps a more user-friendly, toned down alternative that is easy to pick up and get used to. iOS 8.3 does still have a large number of features, and what you prefer really comes down to your own personal preference.

It’d definitely be a good idea to get a feel of both iOS 8.3 and the LG UX before picking out a smartphone - both offer vastly differing experiences.

Performance

The LG G4 has a Snapdragon 808 SoC with a 64 bit 1.8GHz quad core and dual core CPU. There are better performing SoC’s out on the market already, including the Snapdragon 810, but that doesn’t mean the 808 isn’t a beastly performer. The iPhone 6 Plus on the other hand uses a 1.4GHz 64 bit dual core processor.

We’ll be overlooking the exact specs on the LG G4 and the iPhone 6 Plus because you certainly can’t compare spec sheets to get a good understanding of how each device performs on separate operating systems. You can unlock your LG G4 here just read and follow the instructions!

Most benchmark tests show that the iPhone 6 Plus actually performs considerably better than the LG G4, although understandably the LG G4 performs better with multi-core tasks.

When it really comes down to it, the performance between both devices is hard to compare - the iPhone does better in real world tests, but both devices can deal with any tasks their respective operating systems can throw at them.

Summary

The LG G4 is one of the best phablets the Android camp has to offer this year, but even though it’s newer than the iPhone 6 Plus, both devices can compete with each other in every single category.

Which device you choose will come down to your own personal preferences, but whatever you choose, you should be confident knowing that both the LG G4 and the iPhone 6 Plus will offer a great user experience.
