After many years of having 28nm processors on phones, this new 20nm process will bring better clock speeds and an overall better thermal footprint also.
The casting process of the 20nm HKMG Samsung chip forms the gate differently, in the last part of the transistor construction, improving the performance by being less exposed to extreme temperatures during the manufacturing process. You can unlock your smartphone here!
The Exynos 5430 system uses four Cortex A15 cores that run at up to 1.8GHz and also four Cortex A7 cores that run at up to 1.3GHz. The feeling of how efficient it is remains to be proved when we can play with the Galaxy Alpha in our own hands.
