The new year will bring new gadgets of course, as all the major companies are preparing to show off with their tuned up smart phones and tablets. The South Korean dinosaur Samsung is one of the companies that we know for sure is preparing to launch its new high-end Samsung Galaxy S5 in the first months of 2014.

We’re sure that all you techie fans are anxious to see how it’s going to be like and what new improvements it will bring, so we’re here to provide some leaked information concerning its specifications and release date.

High Resolution Display?

It is rumored that Samsung’s high quality displays will show off even more spectacular in the new Galaxy S5, having a 5”+ display, with the incredible resolution of 2560x1440 pixels.

The screen will be using the AMOLED technology again, as we are accustomed and some voices even say that the dimensions of the screen will be bigger than the ones from Galaxy S4.

PLS Display?

Other speculations put forward the idea that the new S5 will leave aside the Amoled technology and use a PLS LCD display. Such thing is hard to believe but at the same time, we know that Samsung is planning to cut costs drastically and that the Chinese companies are offering better technology and better prices.

While some speculate about PLS, other voices mention the LTPS technology which refers to a low temperature, polysilicon technology currently developed by Sharp. There are also discussions about the Synaptics technology upgrade of the Air Gestures in TouchWiz. Lots of things to grasp.

New 64-bit Exynos Chipset?

Although the Exynos 5 Octa chipset hasn’t been very succsseful, it is said that the S5 will be equipped with a new version of it that has a 64-bit architecture, the same as the iPhone 5s’. On the other hand, some also say that Samsung will produce two versions of the same product, one of them with the Exynos and the other with the Snapdragon 805.

4GB of RAM?

As a completion to the possibility of having the 64-bit Equinox processor, the S5 is also very possible to feature a RAM memory of 4 GB. Others say that it will have only 3GB but of course, the truth will only be out when the gadget is out.

16MP Camera?

As competition is high, the new Samsung will probably feature a 16 MP camera with optical image stabilization, with promises that it will get your indoor pictures to be a lot brighter. The front camera is supposed to have a resolution of 2 MP.

2900 mAh Battery?

The big speculation regarding the delicate subject of the battery is that Samsung will have a larger battery, a 2900 one that will be faster to charge due to a new technology. Thumbs up and high hopes for that to be true!

Fingerprint Sensor?

Some other smart phones already have it, so it’s very possible for the Galaxy S5 to employ the fingerprint sensor also. Either the swap type of the touch type, this feature will surely be a plus to the overall functionality of the S5. The fingerprint sensors are supposed to be bought either from a company based in Sweden or from one based in California.

A Plastic and a Metal Version

After accusations of using uninspired pieces of plastic in their phones, there’s a rumor that says Samsung will have two different versions of the S5, one made of plastic and one made of metal. Let’s see how this turns out to be.

Conference Video Call?

There is much rumor about the TouchWiz user interface of Samsung and a major redesign is expected. In addition to that, one special feature is very possible to be introduced, the video conference call possibility, as an alternative to the already existent Google Hangouts app. 

Release in March?

Usually Samsung releasez its Galaxy S series in April or May, but some say they are preparing an earlier launch this year, as they are not satisfied with the overall performance of the S4 on the market.

About the price there’s not much to say, but the expected price is similar to the S4’s, which is 200$ for a two-year contract and 600-700$ for an unlocked gadget. Anyway there are other ways to unlock your smartphone just visit here.
