What is really nice about these tabs is that the Super AMOLED screens are very slim and light, on top of their amazing colors, making them very friendly to use and carry around. The Galaxy Tab 8.4 weighs a record of 294 grams (298 grams for the LTE version) and the Galaxy tab 10.5 weighs 465 grams or 467 for the LTE one.
Regarding the chipsets, there will be two options available, both with 3GB of RAM: the Snapdragon 800 with a 2.3GHz quad-core Krait 400 CPU for the LTE version and the Samsung Exynos 5 Octa with a quad 1.3GHz Cortex-A7 and one quad 1.9GHz Cortex-A15 for the Wi-Fi version.
Their storage capacities are of 16GB or 32GB, with a microSD card slot that supports up to 128GB. Regarding the battery, they are pretty decent, although the tablets are slim. The 8.4” tab has a 4,900mAh battery, while the 10.5” tab has a 9,900mAh Li-Ion package.
The back cameras are 8MP with LED flashes and the front ones are 2.1MP cameras with front-facing snappers, in both tablets’ cases.
The fingerprint sensor introduced by Samsung in its Galaxy S5 home button is present also at the two tablets, as well as the plastic back with the fake leather design.
The software is Android 4.4 KitKat and the Magazine UX present also in the Galaxy S5, allowing Multi Window view, S Voice and other interesting apps.
The orders have already started for the two slates in the US, but shipments are expected only in July, with prices of $399 for the 8.4” and $499 for the 10.5”. For other Samsung phone models you can unlock it here!
