The one VX has a back speaker that can get fairly loud though the sound tends to get distorted as one increases the volume. Plugging in a set of ear phones will help resolve this problem even though this is not the most satisfactory of solutions.
Software and Interface:
Considering that the one VX+ hit the market around the same time as the one VX, it is surprising to see that the latter did not come with the latest jelly bean Operating System but instead chose to run with the Android Ice Cream Sandwich which operates on HTCs Sense 4 software. This being the case, with the one VX the user cannot run Google Now which is Google’s new voice enabled search tool. One can also not enjoy the offline voice typing as well as other performance enhancement tools.
A user can unlock the device and access any four applications with a swipe of the finger. This same shortcuts can be viewed at the bottom of the display once you unlock the phone. There are lock screen themes to choose from like the productivity theme which helps to see notifications or the tippy friend theme which gives you your friend’s social updates.
As a standard feature, one VX comes with three screens but can be added upon so as to populate them with widgets. HTCs weather clock appears on the main screen and tapping on this gives you a chance to set the alarm and use the stop watch. Tapping on the temperature allows one to access the weather forecast.
A point to consider for AT&T as well as HTC is that a software upgrade to Jelly Bean will allow users to enjoy the latest Sense 4+ software. The new apps available for access will be the Tap and Go function as well as the video hub that allows one to place all video applications in one place.

Keyboard:
The keyboard has fairly large keys and a haptic function which can be switched off at will if not needed and this helps one type easily without many errors. The keyboard on the one VX also allows the user to long press on the letters and this gives access to numbers and symbols a feature rarely found on many phones.
Performance:
The one VX offers good enough performance capabilities considering the price range it falls under. It has a one GB RAM as well as 8GB internal memory which can be expanded using a micro SD card up to 32GB. It also uses a dual core processor. This helps the one VX offer a snappy performance. One can browse through home screens and camera apps quite easily and very fast though not as fast as if the phone were using the jelly bean technology. When switching from screen to screen, the one VX is not as fast as the one VX+ even though this is not easily noticeable.
4G and Web:
The HTC one VX offers some of the fastest data speeds using AT&Ts 4G LTE network. It surprisingly offers speeds of up to 39 Mbps in some areas. Though as a whole it does approximately 17.5 Mbps. The one VX will load websites very fast with screens popping at 3 seconds at a time. AT&Ts browser bar is also an addition when it comes to browsing and lets you share articles on Facebook and Twitter.
Applications:
AT&T has put an apps folder in the front and center of the home screen and this includes the AT&T locker which has Cloud storage. HTCs apps has features like the Evernote compatible notes application which comes in handy with voice recording. Theer is also a Music Hub whichgives you access to music applications like Sound Horn and Tunein Radio. HTC Watch allows one to download premium movies and TV shows.
Camera & Camcorder:
The HTC one VX has a very fast camera that captures up to four frames per second. Images look sharp though when one blows up the pictures there is a tendency for them to get distorted.
The one VX camcorder is not as good as one would expect. There is some pixilation when moving the camera to capture other images as well as stuttering as objects move towards the camera. One good thing is that the camcorder offers is the mic sensitivity. Another option is the video pic that allows you to shoot pictures while still shooting videos.
Conclusion:
For the price of just $49, the HTC one VX offers a combination of great design and features. We would recommend an upgrade to the Android Jelly Bean even though this isn’t likely to happen. Still it is a great phone to have…what with the fantastic speeds it has to offer, the good camera and vey bright display. This is a superb choice of phone if I may say so.
