Most Wanted Features for Samsung Galaxy S5

Samsung Galaxy S5 Rumors2013 has definitely been a great year for flagship smartphones. We’ve seen a lot of innovative and amazing new features for Android devices. And now we’re anxiously waiting for the 2014 launch of the new Samsung flagship phone, the Galaxy S5. As this device is bound to bring a new wave of technology, we’ve put together a list of features the device might incorporate.

Fingerprint sensor

It’s not just a fad, but a really useful feature that many users would appreciate. HTC has surely understood the importance of an extra security feature, and has equipped the new HTC One Max with a fingerprint sensor. Now it’s time for Samsung to take a hint and make use of this important tool. Of course, this technology does have its glitches here and there, so it’s up to Samsung to integrate it perfectly for the new Galaxy S5.

Better build quality

Samsung can definitely improve the build quality of its phones. While the plastic build of its smartphones is good enough to withstand shocks and normal wear and tear, it could use some revamping. Incorporating some metal elements is the way to go for premium phones. They make the phone feel solid, while also adding important design features. Paying top dollar for an all plastic phone is out of the question for many smartphone users today.

Automatic voice commands

An even cooler feature than the fingerprint sensor is being able to directly command your smartphone by voice. Instead of going through a separate feature such as the Google Now, users could command their Galaxy S5 through its own language processor. Other manufacturers are already trying to add this feature to their new generation of flagship phones, so it’s the perfect timing for Samsung to make an effort in this direction too.

A revamped UI

While the TouchWiz does have some incredibly useful features and enough functionality, it’s in desperate need of reconstructing. This is mainly because a few tweaks here and there are just not going to cut it for a new 2014 flagship. While the user experience of the TouchWiz has been great for most users, a major change is definitely due. There is definitely room for improvement, as well as extra features for the new Galaxy S5 UI.

Better processor

Of course we would expect to see a 64-bit processor for the Galaxy S5, supported by the best possible architecture. As raw power is something that appeals to most users, Samsung should go that extra mile and make sure the Galaxy S5 is as fast as lightning. That will be essential if it also adds the other features we talked about.

Better display quality

Let’s just say that the Galaxy S4 does have some display issues. One is outdoor lighting conditions, as the S4’s screen can be a bit difficult to read while outside. This happens due to insufficient brightness of the AMOLED display. If Samsung does decide to go for a different technology, it’s going to be a big step forward. A high quality LCD screen would also render more true-to-nature colors. On top of this, Samsung does have the new curved display technology that could give the Galaxy S5 an extra advantage.

Premium quality camera

The 13 MP camera of the Galaxy S4 won’t be enough for the new flagship. It needs at least 21 MP camera with optical stabilization. While the S4’s camera is not too bad, it does need some major improvements. It needs to do better in low light conditions, as well as improve focal length. Samsung did announce at one time that it plans to add some interesting camera features, so we definitely look forward to seeing it in action.

There are many features that the Galaxy S5 can integrate. Now it’s up to Samsung to decide which ones are key elements for their new flagship.
