Google apps and services will be featured on all Android devices
If the domination of Google wasn’t enough until now, there are even more things to come that are destined to put this company on the top choices of Internet and mobile gadgets users. To get unlocked your gadgets please click here!
One of these things is a new agreement that was signed by Google and its hardware partners regarding Android devices and the Google apps used for YouTube, Gmail, Chrome and so on.
This agreement implies that all Android phone manufacturers have to include as basic apps on their gadgets the whole Google app package, they also have to use Google Search as the default search engine and position Google Play Store immediately next to the home screen.
All the Google apps have to be placed no lower than one level from the phone top.
These rules are part of the Mobile Application Distribution Agreement which has to be signed by all Android hardware manufacturers.
There is also the possibility of choosing an open source version of Android, for the companies that don’t want to use Google Apps on their gadgets, and Asian companies are already doing that, replacing the Google Play Store with their own alternatives.
The first version of the agreement was drafted in 2011, we don’t know if the current version brought any significant changes to the list of requirements or not.
The purpose of such an agreement is to keep software companies safe and to guarantee the appropriate use of their products on contractors’ devices.
Google is not the only company who works with such agreements, of course. See Microsoft as an example.
