Samsung Galaxy S IV - Specs & Rumors

By admin | Published January 22nd, 2013

Samsung Galaxy S IV RumorsAll ears are on the ground waiting to hear of the date of the announcement of the Samsung Galaxy S IV. Most people are of the opinion that the phone will be released in April 2012 but there is still no word from the Taiwan based phone maker. Also under speculation are the device’s new features with most rumors touting an unbreakable screen while others expect the 1080p screen.

The unbreakable screen which in essence is the flexible screen seems to be what most are expecting though Samsung has not released any news yet. If Samsung releases the Galaxy IV with the unbreakable screen, this means that it will be the first phone maker to launch this one of a kind feature.

Most phone experts say that the launch of the unbreakable screen might not be forthcoming with the Samsung Galaxy IV as the technology is not yet out and might not be out till later this year, which will be after the Galaxy IV has already been launched.

The Samsung Galaxy S3 was one of the biggest sellers in 2012 with sales exceeding 30 million and experts say that they expect the Samsung SIV is expected to supersede this in sales and will make for a phone to look out for this year. Considering that Samsung launches a new phone each year, we expect this phone to be launched any time. Here is a review of what to expect in this year’s Samsung Galaxy SIV.

Design:

As with previous designs, we expect Samsung to tweak the design for the SIV as we have noticed that previous designs have not at any point looked the same. Previous designs have undergone lawsuits regarding their design from Apple and we believe that they are definitely looking out for the new design. The Samsung S3 had a fantastic design but we expect this to change for the better with the launch of the SIV.

Display:

The Samsung S was the first of its kind to launch a display with a Super AMOLED touch screen of 480x800 pixels and 223ppi. This then went up to the current Super AMOLED HD of 720x1280 pixels at with 306ppi for the Samsung S3. If we follow this trend, we expect the Galaxy S IV to be furnished with a full HD screen that will be 1980x1080 pixels and a 441ppi.

Processor:

Currently the Samsung Galaxy S3 is sporting a dual core processor which though fast enough, an upgrade is expected as we have seen with past trends. There may be an improvement with a new quad processor being released but rumor has it that the Galaxy SIV may be launched with an Exynosis 5450 processor. This will be a dual core processor which will enable the device perform better especially in terms of overall smoothness, graphics, good response to the Android interface and all in all allow the device to perform better.

Android 4.2 or Android 5.0:

There are rumors that the Samsung Galaxy SIV might run on Lime Pie, Google’s new Android. Unfortunately, this new Android from Google is supposed to be launched in mid 2013 which is when most major Android announcements are made, we may not see this operating system on the Samsung Galaxy SIV. Seeing as we have no confirmation on the launch and release of the Samsung Galaxy SIV, there is still a possibility that the phone may run on the Android 5 platform. In the event that the phone is launched before the Android 5, then we can be safe to assume that the Samsung Galaxy SIV will be running on Android 4.2.

4G LTE:

It is a given that Samsung Galaxy SIV will have Long Term Evolution (LTE) on board. AT&T as well as Spring networks have been doing quite well on LTE networks and from what we have seen in the market, other smart phones have already been launched on 4G networks. We do not expect a difference with the Samsung Galaxy SIV. The importance of having 4G LTE on the Samsung Galaxy SIV is the fact that LTE networks are tem times faster than 3G networks. The Samsung Galaxy SIV is expected to support NFC – Near Field Technology which is a contact less Wi-Fi style technology and hence the need to have LTE o run this feature.

Galaxy S IV Camera:

We expect an improvement in the camera sensor of the S4, up from that of the Samsung S3 as well as an improvement on the camera quality. The upgrade in the number of mega pixels should shoot up from the currently disappointing 8 mega pixels to 13 mega pixels. Also expected is the camera’s ability to record 1080p at 30 frames per second.

The Samsung Galaxy S4 Release Date:

Even though Samsung has not officially released the release date for the Samsun Galaxy SIV, there are many rumors floating around regarding its release. We do not expect to hear from Samsung regarding its release date as they like to keep their customers and the world at large wondering before they make a release. A clear example was with the release of the SAMSUNG Galaxy S3. There was a teaser viseo released by Samsung stating that something big as coming in CES event. Most people related this to the launch of the Samsung Galaxy SIV but this was vehemently denied by Samsung saying that this was in relation to TV releases.

Other rumors going round are that Samsung will launch in February 2013 in the MWC, 2013 which will be held in Barcelona Spain. These is based on citations in the Korean media and have no basis really and therefore cannot be trusted. Chances are that the device will be released in the first quarter of the year although this is yet to be confirmed.

Conclusion:

All the rumors going round give a clear indication of how eager the masses are awaiting the Samsung Galaxy SIV. Everyone is looking forward to this new product and if it has just half of what we have mentioned above, then it will be a clear cut winner in the phone market. We do not expect any disappointments on this phone as we have seen with other eagerly awaited releases like the Iphone 5 which did not meet the expectations of the phone market. I am sure that the people at Samsung will have learn a thing or two from this launch and will take cue and offer the masses something they will be singing about for the next two years. We also expect this phone to set an example for the other phone companies expected to launch phones in the near future and that they should follow in the footsteps of this world renowned phone maker.
